Three women per show would retail their tales of woe so the event was a competition for applause and appliance rewards; one might see in it the precursor to victimology, a precipitate of New Deal socialism plus mass media and, in turn part of the prep for New Deal II under Johnson – Nixon. The show also is a degraded, Judeo-Christian flip side to the Roman coliseum’s bloody displays and the public’s “thumbs down” or Communist regimes’ public confessions and executions. But public confession and public reward or punishment is a signature of Romantic-Modern culture dating from about 1770. One even could argue that the “epistolary novel,” tales presenting themselves as an exchange of letters or diary extracts were an initiating form of this public offering of emotion, this appeal, slightly disguised by aesthetics for compassion, justice and profit [1]. Democratic politics also may overlap this confessional genre and the welfare state it generates and reflects.

“In Queen for a Day,” the meter dial was shown prominently on screen after each tale so those at home could track the competition and see if the feelings of the audience matched their own: programming for public confession, oceans of group emotion and mediated welfare “courtesy of our sponsors” not unlike modern elections.

Public confession as spectacle, sympathy publicly expressed by applause and measured with technology the show was a classic mid-twentieth century result of the Romantic ethos. If you read Frankenstein, or, the Modern Prometheus (1818; author’s revised edition 1831) you will note that each of its three narratives is a confession of feelings and a plea for understanding, friendship, even absolution [2]. The monster’s final plea to Robert Walton, literally over the dead body of Victor fuses the narratives as the monster of the dead victor argues his case like a lawyer making a summation to a jury.

The jury is now the electorate; it’s a pity few of them understand that the rules and voting are rigged, pre-scripted, very unlike Frankenstein which brings the reader/witness into the drama and leaves them with a question, the result of a QUEST for salvation. We are living with the results of the Romantic gift of autonomy and authenticity to individuals: the final tally looks like impending tyranny, the antithesis of what the benighted Romantics intended. But back to the show…

“Queen for a Day” awarded down-to-earth prizes to the winner of the most sympathy: a washing machine or refrigerator, baskets of food, articles of clothing or shoes, etc. Among its vestiges of a bygone era, most of the women had husbands who had taken ill, been injured at work or died leaving the ladies and their children in the distress that justified their visit (in retrospect one can see expanded welfare and ‘affirmative action’ being planted in this pattern: if we can awared it to them via the show, why not let “government award it” and “the rich” can sponsor it?). Last but not least, the lady whose narrative evoked the most applause-sympathy was seated on a simple throne and presented with a bouquet of roses by the show’s host, a fellow with slick hair and a pencil moustache. Her tears trickled down in gratitude for being chosen and the credits rolled to the crescendo of concluding applause. It was bread and roses too and still within the bounds of individual sympathy, corporate charity and female distress.

Americans (and others) already are cheering at the polls and before the music dies the media will announce the new Queen for a four-year Day; perhaps they will play, “dog save the Queen” or some other pc doggerel to suit postmodern dogma.

Many will cheer the end of the dog-and-pony show, but this relief is not long-lasting. Two years ago we learned that the campaign has become as perennial as the elites are permanent. Barack who? Bill who? The fellow who co-wrote Prairie Fire and Dreams from My Father? Who covers for him? Long live the Queen.

The perennial campaign and the endless seasonal sports cycles that overlap the seasons, knitting them into a seamless robe of consumerist distraction and anesthesia perfectly fit the goals of the social engineers in their attempt to deify the State “and to make it so mighty as to render it coincident with society (Fascism).” Among the methods to achieve this is to create “a secular religion,” for example via sports, including the political ‘horse-race,’ or a web of soap operas filled with the confessions and passions of virtual persons to generate “a permanent enthusiasm” accompanied by and helping to sell “decrees trying to enforce ‘virtues’[that are] high-sounding collectivist abstractions.” This leads to “a universal system” and “the conquest of the inner man” [3].

The Welfare State and its Fascist managers exploit Jean Jacques Rousseau’s notion that we are all one family, a global village linked primarily by feelings of innate compassion, that primitive man’s main feeling is empathy: civilization is the problem, nature the solution. Rousseau visited no primitive societies. But as his feelings evolved, Rousseau decided that the State would ensure that the General Will is fulfilled by policies increasingly presented as ‘therapeutic’ “decrees trying to enforce collectivist abstractions.” Psychology and its offshoot, modern education, both forms of social engineering, see and treat men and women “as imperfect machines” and view “society as a field of experimentation” where we can be ‘fixed’ or re-programmed [4]. This progressive replacement theology expresses itself in popular culture. The entire Age of Aquarius mystique, its manner of selling the sensate; its subordination of reason, memory, and traditional bonds to ‘authenticity’ often pre-cooked; the emergence of Rock ‘n Roll and its devolution to rap, gangsta and whatever the reigning noise now is called; the baring of the body in public; the slaughter of the unborn and newly born, the cult of “self-esteem,” for certain groups, the increasingly ‘hot’ focus on ever smaller bits of time is all part of the playing out of Romanticism, the new Gothic in which the element of terror is increasingly grotesque and pervasive, in which the new grail is the thrill of volatility, breaking norms and mechanized passion, sterile and cold. “The entire web of societal relationships becomes mechanized” in pursuit of “a unified society,” a machine that the engineers will build “to persuade and educate people in the new ways” [5]. Television and all mass media are part of building this machine of re-education, even shows that today seem as quaint as “Queen for a Day.”

The concept of “progress,” closely associated with Darwinism as a replacement for providence and with Nature displacing its Creator is also relevant in contemporary, junk-science descendants of “Queen for a Day” described below.

During this interminable campaign, a regular visitant on the O’Reilly weeknight variety hour is a “body language analyst” who, with her host examines video of a candidate or media celebrity and offers numbingly banal, pc interpretations of what the human under examination supposedly is feeling and what their personality must be like. Please note that this segment is not arbitrary, simply moronic or ‘funny’; it is menacing, it is prepping us for more clever ‘social scientists,’ who will analyze and “coordinate the personality” of growing numbers of people, perhaps as part of a means-based test for receiving governmental favors. For education in the view of educational engineers of a new world “is persuasion…to help students unlearn, to liberate them from traditional and outmoded folklore, beliefs and postulates” [6] so they can be re-programmed with passions and high-sounding collectivist abstractions, — lies, in simple language: “Islam is a religion of peace,” heterosexuality is rape; free public education is a right, There should be sex ed for kindergartners, or whatever.

But Bill’s not one to make mountains of molehills; he’s fair and balanced. For goodness sake, he visits “the View” and “Letterman.” To him, Rashid Khalidi is just “a Palestinian guy” (10-30-08) and he’s a nice guy, too. He reads the ratings-meter and eats well. His ratings are up as he often mentions.

The body language zombie has learned to allow her face some ‘human’ animation, at times. She herself would be a quaint subject for analysis. Perhaps some day all girls will grow up to be as wise and ‘normal’ as her, after proper engineering in public school where they learn how to “read” personality. Imagine having a person like her assess you at every airport, supermarket, and office scanner. One will need an access code, no? Her clones will confer or withhold them, God forbid.

What happens to the expression, and then the feelings of someone under such scrutiny? Dear reader, they become more uniform and repressed; the frightened human examines and fragments his every response. This in turn leads to a greater perceived need for ‘care-givers’ to “coordinate the personality” as Alice Bailey wrote (“Seed Groups in the New Age” 1937). Thus does expression become repression and the cult of authenticity, sensation and compassion leads to regimentation, fear, official cruelty and indifference; thus does Romanticism, winding through the era of industry and the social sciences (Modernism), become “technology” and thus postmodernism becomes the antithesis of Romanticism its great grandparent. Appetite, “the universal wolf” consumes itself via the lust for power which, as in Rousseau’s Social Contract or the Communist Manifesto purports to bring a secular utopia based on nature and the worship of nature, “an idyll, for all” [7]. An epitome of this dogma is “change you can believe in,” a slogan reflecting the deification of “progress,” that is, the eliciting and management of sensation (“let’s do it,” what? we’ll tell you, stay tuned), the method of the new totalitarianism. Instead of societies based on integral nations, communities, families and individuals the model is a global village in communion and directed by facilitating witch doctors.

This is no hyperbole; like the oxymoronic “universal voluntary community service,” a civilian army “as extensive as the armed services,” “an idyll for all” means that everyone must be ‘inside the circle’ of official consensus or they do not exist. In the harmonics of the new socially engineered world, “everyone is a note in a sublime Bach fugue [or mind-numbing pop tunes hymned by hotties] and anyone who refuses his note is a mere black dot, useless and meaningless that need only be caught and crushed like a flea” [8].

Last spring, the body language, sensation-and-analysis routine budded to produce a new-old feature for Mr. O’s variety show. An eternally young pollster, Frank Luntz has been “wiring people for emotion” to gauge, via their pulse, their feelings about a candidate or his or her message. As in Queen for a Day there is a meter that shows, via colored lines, the pulse of registered Republicans or of Democrats quickening and slowing as the subjects watch and listen to footage of the politicians.

What if someone had a panic attack about the wires, or because Frank looks like Igor? Would that count as “approval”?

There’s no applause, no roses, crown or scepter, yet (Family Law bestows those via emoluments called “alimony,” “child supports,” “the family residence” linked to numerous tax-funded “social programs” geared to women and “single moms” who may tip the vote to BHO), but winsome Frank never stops smiling and emoting with Bill about the ‘leanings’ or maybe one should say, tendencies of the crowd, or mob, or persons assembled in his peanut gallery.

From Buffalo Bob to Frankenluntz in five painful decades: what a ride. And William Ayers grew up to be “a respected Professor of Education” by the nature of the beast.

“They’re reacting on a second-by-second basis” Dr. Frank says excitedly. That’s science at work; what a great show! No wonder its grabbing market share, as Bill often relates.

Thus do human beings and citizens dwindle to emoting voters, stimulated pulses and a line on a meter: the new Minister of Psychology is a meter-reader who explains what makes us tick, and gets annoyed when we don’t tick as s/he believes we should. Perhaps in the next programming cycle s/he will wield a cattle-prod as her subjects ‘follow the bouncing ball.’ From Queen for a Day to wired Frank (a section of the entire polling phenomenon) one can follow the replacement of thinking by emoting managed by ’social science,’ another step toward “techniques of group-thinking and collective decision-making” facilitated by “community builders.” TV makes it ‘fun.’ The global mass communications system uniformly packages sensations into a blob of Culturetainment mystery meat for a starved village. This process of social engineering appears first in the most technically advanced societies, England, America, Germany and then rapidly and successfully spreads the attitudes, postures and even body language of the welfare state [9]. Societies like Russia that lack norms of accountability, where coercion is the norm play major roles in the process of forgetting, in the managed social lobotomy the servants of the barons term “progress.”

“You begin to liquidate a people by taking away its memory. You destroy its books, its culture, its history. Then others write other books for it give another culture to it, invent another history for it. Then the people slowly begin to forget what it is and what it was.” [10]

The week of Mischief Night, Halloween, and Ballot Bowl, Frank was smilingly perturbed that the undecided voters viewed the entirety of candidate Obama’s vacuous infomercial and emerged alive and still undecided! He thought it was preposterous; he couldn’t understand it. “They got the idea [sic] that he [Obama] worries about them,” he said with his usual energy, “but they still wanted specifics!” This even though BHO had intoned platitudes such as, “when you make promises you should keep them”; “you earned your pension you should keep it,” (thanks) and said, in his suave swooning tones that “I’m worried about the single mom who…” proceeding to enumerate a list of social types about whom he said he was worried. The man has feelings, lots of feelings; he “worries” about all kinds of people; with his sound-byte cadences and relaxed gestures “he gets them nodding” in agreement, Luntz said of the subjects of his ‘wired-for–emotion’ experiment and yet, and yet still they say they’re undecided; 1/3 even switched to McCain! Carnk the generator, Igor…

His frustration and the failure of complete numbing control is a constant theme of literature that examines social engineering. In Brave New World, the top alphas that direct conditioning lament that there is something immaterial inside humans that causes them to make errors in their assigned roles and to feel a need for relief from their manufactured ‘happiness.’ So too, Luntz was distressed by those the messiah left undecided.

Not to miss a beat and as if some guiding hand was scripting a multi-channel, culture-wide total art work (gesamtkunstwerk) CNN had a prime time feature on “the undecided lobe” in which they showed a cross section of the brain and launched into babble about what part of it led people to stay in the muddled middle rather than become bobble-heads for Obama or bop to the GOP. Ten years from now you can tell your grandkids, if they’re not on TV that you were present at the launching of the physiology of the undecided program; perhaps it will become a “War on the Undecided Brain” akin to the War on Poverty, War on Drugs, War on Terror, or War on Global Warming, etc. There will be grants for sociologists to identify, psychologists to name syndromes and surgeons to fix the misfiring organ. Might that be a problem in an era of free universal health insurance funded by tax cuts for 95% of the people? Maybe it depends on what you mean by “people?”

Ever get the feeling that you’re being mobilized for some great quest for some great goal somewhere? The fainting communards at the messiah’s rallies get the drift. After all, General Colin Powell, a crossover consensus-type endorsed Obama saying “we need a transformational figure.” Clearly Obama is a bridge to the future, whatever it is; looks like a one-way toll road crammed with free college, health care, tax cuts, jobs, ethanol and change. But the piper will be paid; the Queen will be waiting: Applause! Off with their heads!

What if Frank’s response-a-meter was wired to the players in the H & C shout-fest that follows the variety hour? Would it remind body language experts of that New Age classic, “The Beast with Two Heads” starring Ray Milland and Rosie Greer? Does the finale of that film (loosely based on Frankenstein) with Rosie driving into the sunset singing ‘O Happy Day’ augur well for our approaching climax? The latter is not likely to be comedic.

Like the theft by Prometheus of divine fire this gambit won’t end well; the attempt to fuse communism and capitalism, providence with programming is not synthesis but negation; not peace but war; not boundaries but an oceanic broth of emotion churned by ‘world servers’; not grace and beauty but horror, the key word of Frankenstein, of this election cycle and of the coy imperialism and intolerance of postmodernism, the cult of insincerity and the cynical imposition of theories veiling a lust for power and the crushing of all individualism and thinking but that of the elite.

Yes, “he gets them nodding.”

1. Samuel Richardson, Pamela (1749) usually is recognized as the first practitioner of the lucrative genre, the first ‘pulp fiction.’ His approach and its sensibility were satirized by Henry Fielding, author of Tom Jones and Joseph Andrews in Shamela (1756); the title says it all.
2. Mary Shelley, Frankenstein or, the Modern Prometheus (1818; author’s revised edition, 1831; Penguin Classics 1992). The novel, trivialized by its many film versions offers a tonic for our era, especially as Shelley revised it in 1831, strengthening the message that the Romantic – modern ideal of ‘going it alone’ leads to disaster including loss of ideals; that sympathetic and understanding mentoring is essential to education; and that a cult of boundless progress is a delusion that destroys those who pursue it and all close to them. It also shows that remorse without repentance leads to despair and that the simple human bonds of family and local community are the bedrock of happiness. There is much more in the novel that is relevant to our situation. Yet she remained as ambivalent as the dying Victor about the value of the Quest and while intellectually an atheist she recognizes that love for nature brings no lasting peace to a wounded soul.
3. Thomas Molnar, The Decline of the Intellectual (1961; Transaction publishing 1994), 208, chapter 6: “from ideology to social engineering.”
4. Ibid. 212-13 on B.F. Skinner and other such engineers for whom “the value of the individual himself appears to approach zero” while, of course, a few individuals direct the programming and programmers.
5. ibid. 215, 212, 208
6. Molnar, op. cit. 220-1 discussing “Psychology and Order in Society” by Lawrence K. Frank (1959).
7. Milan Kundera, The Book of Laughter and Forgetting (1978, in Czech; 1979, French; 1980, English translation, Knopf; 1996 revised English translation by Aaron Asher author approved, Harper Perennial Classics), part 1, section 5, “Lost Letters,” p. 11
8. ibid.
9. Molnar, op. cit. 219-25, “Social Engineering” and “Planetary Consciousness”; in previous essays I have elaborated the complementarity between social engineering, Aquarian cults and forms of globalism. “Community Building” is being innovated as a new ‘discipline’ in higher education; it has no content but control and molding of group-think, the tyranny of manipulated consensus, “the idyll for all.”
10. Kundera, op. cit. part 6, “the Angels II,” section 2, 218.

Galveston was supposed to ‘pipe off’ along with vast sections of the Texas coast depending to which network hysterics, “distressing acts” themselves, made landfall in your home. This is the age of the Spectacle, of Disaster and horror movies, the War on Terror, AIDS, Lyme disease and Oprah; it also is the age when “all roads lead to socialism,” to “political federation, economic collectivization…and world collectivism leading to world socialism.” These roads are paved by disasters, proclaimed, contrived or genuine [2]. So some mighty important people have a lot invested in hyping hurricanes to keep the populace ‘glued to their screens,’ reacting frantically to sensory overkill, and in spreading fear and a sense of disaster to justify the next round of emergency measures.

About 16,000 people in Galveston and 140,000 along nearby coasts were told they “faced certain death” by commissioners wiser than God and seemingly unacquainted with the fickle nature of hurricanes. Eighteen hours after the blast blew by four deaths were confirmed; another fifteen hours and the toll was seven. But those 140,000 deniers and clingers-to-their-homes, what’s to be done about such a “serious social nuisance”? Their survival ruined the planned and utterly erroneous outcome.

“Some emergency officials were angry and frustrated” that so many people ignored the warnings the networks and our public servants emitted. One can’t wholly blame the EMT and first-responders who get calls for help at the most difficult of times. But liberty and responsibility mean a balance must be maintained in demands and expectations on both sides. An example of compromise was the small group, including two dogs, atop a house waiting for rescue. Eventually a sheriff’s truck arrived, got as close as it could and those on the roof “dove into the floodwaters and swam to safety, their dogs paddling behind them” [3]. All involved made a series of choices; if it had not gone well it would have been sad but the discourse of need would not lead to fascism.

Can this nation of individuals, families, neighborhood and electoral communities keep this balance; or will we fall under the battering of “indecent and distressing acts” like that of Geraldo Rivera hyping the apocalypse while bent over his microphone like Joe Cocker croaking about “a little help from my friends”? Network storm teams belched tsunamis of blather about a twenty-five foot “surge” of water that never topped fifteen or old Geraldo, foam around his ankles like Aphrodite would have been washed to Fort Worth. But the great entertainer survived: some might term that a “serious social nuisance.”

We have not heard apologies for fear-mongering and error from those who demanded evacuation and asserted “certain death”; in future would such officials fulfill their predicted outcome by eliminating stubborn facts? In any case, to keep the terror hot for viewers, FOX interrupted its relentless storm-watch to show a train-wreck in California: disasters everywhere rather like that ‘patriotic’ Chevy ad rock song they used at the 2006 World Series.

Officials told those along the Gulf coast who disobeyed orders and remained in their homes to write their social security numbers on their arms to facilitate identification of their soon-to-be-dead bodies, an ominous policy.

Virtually every event and pseudo-scientific notion (human-caused global warming) is inflated into “the moral equivalent of war” a book by William James that was a favorite of Mr. Wells: “in consolidating world socialism…every citizen” should have “a sense of personal obligation to the World State” [4]. The same Olympian hauteur, the very British noblesse oblige that informs the entire oeuvre of Wells lets him blandly emit phrases like “normal citizen” while unaware or unconcerned that those who define and enforce standards of ‘normalcy’ may be very far from what most people consider “normal.” Perhaps his sense of embattled excellence blinded him to the implications of his comments on “the sturdy and assertive variety of the new young [that] will be needed for the police force of the entire world” where guns will be forbidden, to all but the police, presumably. Of these “new young” Wells writes, their “loyalty will find its best use and satisfaction in the service of world order” [5].

Is it loyalty or slavish self-service that is the primary motivation of the talking hairstyles, the pretty boys and zombie gals on the networks? Perhaps it is loyalty to the “world collective” and to their pay checks that led them to hype the disaster, repeating – as if per script – that “this will drive the price of gas to $5.50 / gallon”: you see, it’s because of a natural disaster, not part of a planned economy and re-organization of our lives. Sure enough, not twelve hours later, the price at the pump 1500 miles away jumped ten cents per gallon, probably because those two dogs swam to the truck; or maybe because a geezer wanted help getting out of his trailer, not so much from the water but “because [he] was getting too many snakes in the house, otherwise I would have stayed.” If he can wait for the team with the reptiles on premises, that’s up to him; he didn’t expect instant service and the new overlords should not expect instant blind obedience every time they declare that “your lives are certain to be lost.” Even the fervently World Collective Socialist Mr. Wells put the inviolability of “one’s private house or apartment and garden” onto his short list for his Declaration of Human Rights. Did he suspect such rights would now include chimps, reducing all human beings to primates?

Well, the Secretary for Homeland Security was perturbed that so many had “stayed behind” and jeopardized themselves (an “indecent and distressing social nuisance”) as well as “the first responders. Now we’re going to see this play out” he said; what did he mean by “this,” hopefully just the clean up and last rescues which will be paid for by “the government,” i.e. taxpayers [6]. Probably his remuneration is adequate.

Perhaps Homeland Security could secure America’s southern borders, or allow the national guards of the various states to do so… That would be healing so it won’t happen.

At the State and municipal level, officials in the Age of Security (Wells wrote of “World Pax”) echoed this perspective. “This was a mandatory evacuation, and people didn’t leave.” Ah, but official projections and warnings of “certain death” were exponentially mistaken; and people are to be secure in their homes. The hurricane is in the emotionalism of networks and officials, very much at variance with the “logic and law” that with socialism form the legs of the tripod Wells prescribed for peace. “This is very frustrating” said a Galveston city manager. “Now we have to deal with everybody who did not heed the order.” Perhaps it’s the rising level not of the water but of emotionalism in discourse (“I was out on the hotel balcony and it was scary” said a reporter for FOX. If the winds really were 110 mph one should not have been “out on the balcony,” then it would not be so “scary”; but then an opportunity to emote with and to EXCITE the viewers would be lost) but one sees in that phrase, “have to deal with” a looming cloud; perhaps in future, those who do not obey such orders will be punished by rationed care, or no care at all for disobeying orders. Nature and the Creator did not conform to the scenario of our masters: will they let humanity work its way on a case by case basis? “What is to be done” as both Lenin and Wells were wont to say?

As for emotional hyperbole, ‘the man in the street’ sees some broken glass, torn road signs (built rather like sails) and downed trees and comments that “it looks like ground zero.” This indeed is the age of inflation, of thought, response, and ‘venting’ sharers of debased language as much as of the specie. How apt that Ike gave place to the more destabilizing hurricanes of the involuntary, taxpayer backed bailouts of AIG, Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae; such homey names, such ugly scams.

“Newspapers and publishers,” Wells lamented (what we call the media), “are morbidly discreet” in discussing ideas. “They do not understand that they should put public service before gain.” Sounding rather like Julien Benda, he adds that the media “have no pride in their function. Theirs is the morale [morality] of the profiteering world, filled with brave-looking articles of conventional liberalism” [7]; he didn’t grasp that the media, then and far more now as standards fall, grow rich by “spreading and perfecting the concept of a new world order” and a “liberal socialist regime” that will deal sensitively, for the people’s own good “with the degeneration of the species” and panic that his own program propels [8]. Aldous Huxley’s satire Brave New World that Wells airily dismissed was in fact a brilliantly conceived and barbed depiction of the hive of nightmares Wells’ notions would produce, have produced, and are producing. His calls for vigorous and open discussion, “for intensive education” and “enfranchisement of the mind” are totally at odds with the World System he sought above all else, “a reorganization that at first must be mainly the work of a party, religion or Cult.” There must be free thought but it must lead to a world state: how does that jibe with “the extreme need for more fresh-minded and inspiring teachers”? Again, it depends on who defines the adjectives but he had his eyes on the prize and didn’t notice or care. Wells also decries the “impoverishment of free opinion and free scientific initiative” but the hype-heavy, reflexive hysteria of crisis-management produces the ills his socialism is meant to cure [9]. But it’s likely that, though he might distaste Wells would understand the shocks of our days as necessary to “demand for establishment of the Modern State.” In a fictional study that anticipates the “counter-factual” history of the postmodern era, whether in law, media or academia, he wrote that “the wars, depressions, pestilences, semi-famine and starvation, in the hundred years before 1914 were necessary” to destroy the “encumbrances of tradition” barring the path to a World State. “Without the sufferings of these generations, men’s minds could never have been purged of their obstinate loyalties” [sic], “never roused to the disciplines and sacrifices” to bring us to the World government that was his goal, for peace [10]. It is as if modern leaders simply read from his texts, add water, and bring to a boil…

Educators and Education: if the leaders of the reorganizing world want that, let them contact this writer, among others. As of now the schools sport stables of pod people and programmers which some would say are just what they want, “to coordinate the personality of the patient” for acceptance into “synthesis and light,” a “group activity for integration of the human family” in “the world collective” [11].

This essay, putatively light-hearted to offset the tropical depression of our days, must, before departing, bow to hurricane Sarah whom the merchants of “etheric consciousness” have splashed across every piece of tabloid anesthesia we have: Ike is now a hurricane, thanks to the “gender balance” of these “frustrating” and “scary” days in which mind and education more than Galveston have sunk beneath Culturetainment sludge and the dogma of an utterly feminized educational industry, indeed, of an entire society besotted by its queens of beauty, as Camelot was…

The Blue Group has dragged Sarah into the mire for a cat fight, their natural condition. To listen to them, she’s her own grandpa, doesn’t know the distance from Timbuktu to Tbilisi or, like everyone else, what the “Bush doctrine” is unless it’s to create “a new world money, a specially contrived money” for the “World Pax.” Perhaps it refers to “monetary collapse [being] the most immediate factor in the world’s disorganization, enfeeblement and famine,” an idea that resonates this September [12].

The young woman says tap her state’s energy reserves: excellent; she supports the second amendment which now earns a profile in courage. But she will not make policy unless the Kraken has an accident [13]; even then she will only sell policies cooked behind the arras: what else could she do? Will she use her bully pulpit to repeal the pernicious bias of “affirmative action?” Will she stop funding schemes for impoverishing Americans under color of “ending global poverty” [sic]? Will she demand major tax cuts and limit the size of government? Will she explain the lies behind the “equal pay for equal work” facet of the feminist juggernaut? Will she demand an end to the nightmare of “no-fault” divorce or break the monopoly of the education industry? Will she put an end to the cult of the “tough-as-nails” modern American wonder-woman horror? Dear reader, no; the lady is on the ticket to trump the O-man’s race and diversity card with the most potent ace in the deck: the “super-Mom” who will smash through every “glass ceiling.”

There’s a storm coming, more “indecent and distressing acts” from which the State is only too well-prepared to protect the “normal entitled” citizen-dependent. Heaven help us from this heavy weather.

First, a confession: In my previous essay I made a mistake; I wrote that the Red Sox used pink bats, wore pink wrist bands, pink satin bows on their jerseys and that the MLB logo and bases had pink decals, etc. I forgot to mention that they also wore pink plastic necklaces with large, clunky pink beads, — actually, both teams did. If you don’t like the pinking of baseball, pod people scream that you don’t care about breast cancer or motherhood.

But the pink is not mainly about breast cancer, a topic of which we’re quite cognizant; it’s about the diffusion of a pink code not associated with any particular candidate or profession, though given the nature of politics and politicians there may be some professions it suits more than others. One could and perhaps should write a book solely on the place the Red Sox play in a world of giant bean-bag buddies with fat guts, big butts and forced fatherlessness, the world of father dearth. For now suffice to mention that four years ago several Sox players eagerly aided management’s agenda by lending their mugs and bodies to the directors of “Queer Eye for the Straight Guy” a show about… well, the title says it all.

Then there’s the virtual reality show, teasers for which are thrust into the faces of those watching their games. It’s called, “Sox Appeal” (get it?) and features dismissive lasses and weird or obnoxious guys, the kinds feminists permit the better to mock them (and they are duly mocked by the announcers) trying to get some romance together at the cute round tables in the right field sky boxes. This is part of the pinking of the entire culture, a barrel tapped at both ends, Boston and Frisco, perfect for a threesome or conga line. Who says this ain’t a great country?

And then there’s Mr. Giambi’s jock strap ad for Victoria’s Secret…It’s another web-within-web situation for the Yankees own the Red Sox, literally.

Actually, I made two mistakes in the previous essay: I also wrote that the ad promoting global “sharing” and “family” via beer had only one repeated syllable: da-da-da-da-da. It’s so numbing that we missed the other bon mot which now, by dint of repeated listening we can give such justice as is due. The hypnotic tune also has a few “la-la-la’s” intermixed along with the phrases, “I need you, I want you” both of which rhyme with brew and bob haplessly, nasally amid the foam of da-da-da-da-da’s. And yes, the bearded mountain man has a red plaid wool jacket which looks stunning amid the fake snow as he laughingly accepts his beer from the shift-clad damsel and then offers it to an Indian lady surrounded by strawberry fields of color, sun and turbans.

Hurray for the Indians! They’re taking our jobs but they have a lot of children: good for them! Shiva’s dancing up a storm so who cares if their multicultural tinderbox is set to burn? Islam, as the past two administrations have taught us, “is a religion of peace” thus we are duly prepped for the ascendancy of that menacing hollow man, B.H. Obama. Osama and Obama: the bs is interchangeable…

What else would one expect from the oldest profession especially in the twilight times? As it’s said, “all whores are liars but not all liars are whores.” Few politicians are born but many are made… the lust for power intertwines tightly with pink tones.

VP Cheney flew to the Middle East a few weeks ago. In Israel he declared that America must never do anything to compromise Israel’s security. Then he flew to Amman and demanded the speedy creation of a “Palestinian State” which would destroy whatever remains of Israel’s security and drive a last big nail into the coffin of history. He’s not only rich; he’s a politician and speaketh readily with forked tongue…

Last week was the sixtieth anniversary of David Ben Gurion’s declaration of Israel’s independence. Miracles of course do not happen in one day: they are the result of many choices and deeds as well as the holy life energies of the Creator acting over large tracts of space and time. For one thing, the occupying British who greatly assisted the Final Solution (delegated to their continental cousins, the Germans) did not leave the Promised Land that day in May sixty years ago: it took them a few more months to finish arming their Arab troops for the Federation on which they’re still working with many helpers [1]. But politicians are not only personae, they are ‘party-animals’ so President Bush and an impressive entourage visited Jerusalem where he delivered an address remarkable for its incongruence with American policy, its internal dissonance and its effects on American presidential politics.

Remember that neither this nor any other post-War President formulates foreign or economic policy: he announces or indicates its shape, however bizarre; he may have some input into its articulation. But he doesn’t want to choke to death on popcorn or anything else…

He read some lines remarkable for their sense: “we consider it a source of shame that the United Nations routinely passes more human rights [sic] resolutions against [Israel] than any other nation in the world” (with the United States being second as whipping boy for the “international community,” da-da-da) [2]. But really, that is its purpose, shaped both by providence and the global oligarchy; condemning and dicing the Jews with attrition and dependency is the method and goal of “the Quartet” which is ALL the states in the world (the US, USSR, EU and UN). “In the end of days, all nations of the world will gather against Jerusalem…”

The President denounced the Nazis and their assistants saying “they could not take away the spirit of the Jewish people and they could not break the promise of God.” He’s right, and that’s a miracle (see above); and it’s almost a miracle that this is the same fellow that said he looked into the pope’s eyes and saw god [3]. This is why we noted that Presidents do not formulate policy nor write their own speeches anymore.

Near the end of his speech, Mr. Bush made a reference rarely made by the dominant faction in Israel: “over the past six decades [actually, it has taken centuries] the Jewish people have raised a modern society in the Promised Land, a light into the nations that preserves the legacy of Abraham and Isaac and Jacob.” If only this were more true; if only the oligarchy that the West keeps in power wanted this to happen; if only Israel was a Constitutional Monarchy settled in its tribal territories from the Sea of Reeds to the Euphrates and from the Arabian wilderness to the Western Sea. Did someone forget to tell the speech writers that every time Ms. Rice descends upon Israel she demands that her sub-contractors remove checkpoints so that more Jews can be murdered and destroy more Jewish towns and synagogues; to destroy Israeli army bases or Jewish-owned land and to build cities for the fictional “Palestinians” in their place? That they join her bosses in declaring Jews “illegal” residents in the center of the Promised Land?

No, no one forgot anything. This was a birthday speech made in Jerusalem for those who love the promise of the Promised Land. If it was Riyadh or Moscow or Rome or Zagreb a very different speech would have been made with a different amount of attention paid. After all, the key policy goal of both Bush II administrations has been to create a fake state for a non-existent people to curtail fulfillment of the Promise and legacy the President invoked. He may even have noted the dissonance in his writers having him hallucinate about a peaceful Palestinian State sixty years hence, “in a new period of tolerance and integration,” da-da-da.

Being only VP, Mr. Cheney can be far more succinct and honestly dissonant, hoisting the thesis and antithesis clearly and in close proximity to enhance our virtual reality.

But the above is background for the turmoil, probably pre-scripted that the President’s remarks stirred up Stateside. Mr. Bush’s writers had him denounce “the false comfort of appeasement” and the belief “that we should negotiate with terrorists” which is exactly what American policy requires that Israel do, it’s blared out and enforced almost daily; it also is the catechism of Team Blue. State might quibble: didn’t Mr. Bush himself declare that Abu Mazen (now decked in three-piece suits and called Mahmoud Abbas) “is a man of courage” and a “moderate” (May 2005) rather than the good cop to Hamas’ bad cop? Mr. Abbas a few weeks ago vaunted to the press in Transjordan about the good old days when he and his co-worker Mr. Arafat created the PLO from Fatah (into which it has again devolved for the one is just a transliterated acronym of the other) for the same old purpose of destroying the Jewish State whose miracle Mr. Bush had extolled.

In any case, Team Blue acted as if this “delusion” and “false comfort of appeasement” applied only to them; Mr. Obama particularly was appalled. The distinguished Senator from Delaware, Joseph Biden commented that the remarks were “B******it” [4]. Oh how the “debate” raged between “liberal and conservative commentators” for whom guests are props for the delivery of the daily truth.

Of course Team Blue is appeasers and destroyers of sovereignty; so are the Carlisle Group and much of Team Red, especially its upper echelons. Indeed the relation between the teams recalls Hardy’s poem “the Convergence of the Twain” and Milton’s description of the ambiguity of death “if shape it might be called that shadow seemed…” [5]; the teams’ contrived argument exemplified my essays on convergence in the purple dusk. The foreign policy teams of each candidate could fit snugly into the Carter or first Bush administrations: shape seems shadow and shadow shape; “fair is foul and foul is fair, — hover through the fog and filthy air.” It’s the time of the lilac craze and “Boston marriages”; of the lie made truth and erasure of history, even while the past is given “mouth honor.” Today, “nothing is but what is not” as virtual reality meets reality TV in a climate like the fog in Macbeth’s disintegrating mind and Culturetainment invites us to waltz on the decks of the Titanic.

In Heart of Darkness, Joseph Conrad referred to Brussels as “a whited sepulcher.” The same may be said of D.C. or Moscow, London or Rome as the new world disorder draws near, brandishing its dart… famine, plague, war and population reduction; despite the recent speech, eugenic dogma has never been more entrenched in high places.

When the lie is made truth and all whores are liars it follows that the media feature young “escorts” who’ve written more books than Obama to discuss the need for enhanced “security” as they ply their trade: politics rules.

1. Samuel Katz, Days of Fire (Israel 1966; NY Doubleday 1968) remains the best source in English on events in Israel during the 1940s. Planned by 1915 in the subsequently abrogated Sykes-Picot treaty, secretly advanced by David Lloyd George at Versailles and then openly by Churchill in 1921-2, by 1944 the British plan for an Arab Federation featured merging the Lebanon and “Syria” (states that had never yet existed) with Transjordan (ditto) and Israel in a block to be merged subsequently with the state of “Iraq” which the British at that point were still trying to get into place. http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/950373.html “In August 1944 the British government gave its representatives in the Middle East the go-ahead to implement ‘the Fertile Crescent Plan.’” Call it the Assyrian Empire redux in which “Christian and Jewish minorities would enjoy [sic] autonomy.” See also Katz, the Aaronsohn Saga (2007), 324-30. This plan is now called the Road Map and interlocks with other regional groupings served by the beer ad. Javier Solana and Tony Blair have been “crisis managing” in and around the Gaza Strip as George Tenet used to do. http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/950189.html You can’t manage a crisis unless there’s a crisis to manage. That’s why Israel must be ruled by an oligarchy sub-contracted to the global oligarchs that deny Israel the fruits of victory, to fight for total victory or even fight a war at all, as was plain in July-August 2006. Into this Fertile Crescent, Arabia and the Gulf states fit like a big, fat oil-sloshed plug.
2. See www.eyeontheun.org for reports, inter alia, on the UN “human rights commission” which is dominated by the Arab League and other Islamic states, most of them created by Western empires with whom they continue to work hand-in-glove.
3. See note to EWTN in previous essay and note that the current pope is fast-tracking the beatification of Pius XII who couldn’t bring himself to mention the massacre of Jews during WW II and even made speeches inflaming the deicide claim. See John Cornwell, Hitler’s Pope (1999).
4. Our previous essay discussed “the coarsening of speech” and “the reversion of the beast folk” in the prescient and nasty self-fulfilling prophecy of H. G. Wells for he and his fellow oligarchic world-breakers have done all they can to make people revert to beasts, the better to treat them as such.
5. John Milton, Paradise Lost (1673), Book II. 666-70, “if shape it might be called that shape had none…” Milton’s description of death describes post-modernism’s institutionalized ambiguities and negation of integrity. So does the bizarre trans-gendered nature of Aphrodite, see Hesiod, Theogeny 160-210; contrast the Hellenist idea of the love goddess and love to Genesis 24. For Macbeth references see 1.1.4, 10-11; 1.3.39, 83-5, 130-42, passim.

“There was a growing coarseness of articulation… [a] jabber multiplied in volume but less and less comprehensible.
My prediction last summer was a bit off: the Red Sox did not wear pink uniforms for their Mother’s Day game this May (nor did they win: this time their 9th inning rally fell short). But their bats were toned far more deeply pink as if dyed in liquid lipstick. They wore pink wristbands, pink satin ribbons in a bow on their chests. There were pink decals on the bases and a pink “MLB” (Major League Baseball) logo by each foul line. “Wait till next year…”

Perhaps some readers have experienced that new advert, — methinks for a beer, the brand is irrelevant for it’s not what’s being sold. A couple of guys are walking through a desert with a brew, they hand it off to an African-American (?) couple in a hot tub and the frosty successively is passed around the world to all different kinds of folks, some more caricatures than others: a bearded white guy in a log cabin laughingly takes one from a shift-clad damsel who traipsed through the snow to give him the ultimate gift, a beer; an attractive Indian lass, red dot on forehead, interrupted by a lad in turn presents it to a modern young cowpoke in a black hat who gives it to a ballerina in tutu who, with a bashful smile brings it to some fellows in a bath house. Who says that Rome fell? The imperial eagle has infested America and “set its nest among the stars.” What ironic perversity that this nest is lodged in Foggy Bottom…

The point is not simply that “it’s a small world after all” and that we’re all family united by the love of beer, the gift that keeps on giving; the point is the ‘lyric’ that accompanies this ‘quest’ – a mélange of symbols from that fictional fact, “the collective unconscious”; it’s unintelligible mood tuning, an Esperanto for the end of time, the era of virtual reality. The entire song goes like this: ‘da-da, da-da, da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da.’ How curious that “the mere lumps of sound,” this baby-talk for the culture that enshrined an infant avatar (and grew to slaughter real infants in tens of millions) sounds the infant phoneme for that individual (a father) that is this culture’s main target for erasure. Our institutions, from welfare, to ‘affirmative action,’ to abortion or divorce on the woman or girl’s demand give us father dearth, mid-wived by the culture of forgetting, of the State as god, as de facto father, the monster that has displaced the human anchored on memory and manliness. And the displaced father becomes a wraith, the embodiment of evil, very much like what the Western imagination did to the Jewish people who are on the chopping block again in the name of “convergence,” the watchword of the new world family, the solution to the Jewish problem.

As it is written, “the past was erased, the erasure was forgotten, the lie became truth” [3].

Convergence is the most recent code word for the compression, slicing and dicing of Israel prefatory to its absorption into “the New Middle East” a.k.a. the Middle East Free Trade Association which interlocks with the emerging Mediterranean Peace and Prosperity Zone which interlocks with the EU and AU, etc. The expulsion of Jews from their homes in the land of Israel (boundaries, Exodus 23:31-33) is nothing new; Emperor Hadrian, “the most Greek of Emperors” decreed prohibitions against practicing Judaism and then oversaw the slow, steady crushing of the third and last great war for Jewish sovereignty (132-38 CE), re-naming it “Palestine.” Hadrian and his Empire’s mores were all about convergence and rapture: his beloved, Antinous (“unconscious” or “mindless”) has the luscious muscular curves familiar in modern androgynous imagery like that female body-builder whose face and physique appear on a widely used email provider. She has the toned, taut muscles that in softer form adorn the sexually ambiguous sculptures of Praxiteles (Hermes and Dionysus) or Lysippos (a young athlete), Greek originals the Romans loved to reproduce. They are enraptured in their animal unconsciousness.

Words tumble together, “losing shape and import,” nations collapse, relationships, families, the two genders are collapsed, re-formed as in the pagan fantasies recorded by Ovid. Computers, physical training and the miracle of modern surgery allow this age to realize ancient fantasies of metamorphosis. Neo-Darwinism, more aggressive as the evidence disproving its theory becomes more widely known [4] wants us to “regress back into the beast,” to lose the ability to speak articulately, think clearly, write, read, differ, resist… “The ideal set up by the Party was something huge, terrible and glittering – a world of steel and concrete, of monstrous machines and terrifying weapons, a nation of [mindless] warriors and fanatics marching forward in perfect unity, all thinking the same thoughts and shouting the same slogans, perpetually working, fighting, persecuting… three hundred million people all with the same face” [5]. In this world, only “proles and animals are free,” that’s the role demarked for 98% of those who remain after the shocks and aftershocks of the convergence: to be mindless and “free” drones issued green coupons in full faith and credit to fill our scant off-line time in games of “centrifugal bumble-puppy,” pure waste, the antithesis of the Torah desire that knowledge of the Eternal “teach us to count our days” (to make our days count, be meaningful). In the brave new world omelett as in 1984, healthy “desire is thought-crime” but there’s always beer… [6].

Puglubbuh…

It’s interesting, Orwell’s description, quoted above in italic recalls Daniel’s vision of the fourth beast, Rome, “trampling, crushing and obliterating everything”; just so George son of George descends upon the reborn but barely sovereign Israel, his security crews imposing a virtual lockdown on much of Jerusalem. Before him, salesman for the “Road Map” it was Hadrian who imposed the name “Palestine” upon the Promised Land; befitting the era of virtual reality, erasure of the past and the lie made truth, they mean to do it again.

During the Sox game Nextel trotted out some nifty new ads, the mini-epics and scripture of our hasty, fake-smiling and frightened days. They were set in a Parliament building, –they used an image of the Capitol and asked, “what if steelworkers [“or firefighters”] ran the world.” These premonitory mini-dramas feature a young fellow standing in line at a counter being quizzed by a tough guy in uniform with some kind of helmet and lots of gear. Via cell tech they bark for identity background: ‘Medical check! Diet check! Drivers check! Etc. The youth fails and makes a wry face. But it’s okay, it’s just an ad; and anyway, firefighters and steelworkers are good guys, now that they’re gone (via feminism, ‘no-fault’ divorce and NAFTA, that Team Blue pledges to fix or ‘reform’), solid white American men who protect us, or used to; in real as opposed to virtual life they’re subject to the same disabling and disappearing act as other white men, the butts of affirmative action. The inquisitors at check-in are and will be from other spectra of the rainbow.

“Affirmative action” works like the political officers the NKVD and SS used to assign to military units to enforce “party discipline.” Every decision must be approved by the dispensers of “social equity,” all “enemies of the people” or Jews must be purged to facilitate convergence and harmony which, after all, was precisely the message of Alice Bailey and the Aquarians [7]. Jews are the canary in the mine for humanity.

Hmmm…“disabling”; reminds one that the ad’s parliamentary setting and focus on security recall the Reichstag Fire and subsequent “Enabling Act” (February 27, March 27, 1933) that led to unprecedented assaults on God’s witnesses and on Godliness bringing human kind giant steps closer to the endgame of Darwinism and Hegel’s ideological power lust: the State marching like a god through history. The vision leaves no room for free will (it is verboten, as are the social ties and teachings that support it) and evokes Orwell’s comment on the image of the future: “a boot stamping on a human face forever.”

“Puglubbuh…”

“They were reverting, and reverting very rapidly…females began to disregard the injunctions of decency,” a la ancient pagans and after relentless coaxing via the media sorcerers until “minds become habituated to accepting unreality as reality,” “the tradition of the Law was clearly losing its force” [8]. When the Founders chose Latin for America’s mottos they adopted an imperial style and essence that in time undid the Republic and its Constitution. Indeed, character is in a name in which destiny hides like a seed: “out of many, one: just so, the world state, the new world omelet whose post-modern ideology derides the concept and possibility of integrity and individual wholeness; derides history and memory for the rapturous communion of a perpetual present in which the mindless many will readily be ruled by the power-mad few.

Did we mention that Rupert Murdoch is among the worthies accompanying George to the lockdown ‘celebration’ in Jerusalem? Sixty, and when you’re sixty-two it’s time to go per Strategic Plan 2010 and the prescient satire of Brave New World. Convergence is the game on FOX now featuring that avatar of convergence, Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton. The Senator consented to chat with Wild Bull Malarkey leading to a weeklong love fest re her honesty and Malarkey’s “toughness,” a quality that consisted largely of grimaces, gestures, and ‘criticism’ that quickly vaporized into inarticulate blustering a la CNN’s “independent populist,” Puglubbuh. Surely the heavyweights at FOX have read the comment by a Time-Warner exec that “in the future only six corporations will control the media.” Will we need even six when “the concept of freedom has been abolished” and “orthodoxy means not thinking… orthodoxy is unconsciousness” [9]; remember Antinous, Hadrian, the Empire et al. The hierarchs of rapture have thrown their glittering nets like jelly fish across our horizon, bedazzling us while their harlots numb us with babble about numbers, tactics and super-delegates.

As explained in many essays early this year, convergence is the essence of the scripted contest of the Red and Blue teams, the purple dream machine. We note that FOX has been playing a ramped-up, synthesized version of “Purple Haze” as a lead to its “news” program for some weeks. Convergence is a hazy, rapturous purple, gold and white world, a bunch of crocuses, cups brimming, as Shelley would say, “with the wine of life.” After all, George son of George said that “when he looks into [Pope] Benedict XVI’s eyes, he sees God” [10]. The President noted that “a healthy society is one that values life”; very true. And it’s nice that he shares Rome’s concern for minority rights in the Middle East since it is easy to calculate the minority in that region which must undergo absorption and fusion. Surely this is a new stage in convergence, confidence building, and peaceful co-existence; the virtual dawning of the Age of Aquarius.

“Presently, the degradation of the islanders will be played over again on a larger scale.” Indeed, we are living it.

  1. Eric Blair (“George Orwell”), 1984 (Harcourt 1949; Signet Classic 1950 et. seq.), chapter V, 51-3
From the first settlements till the Revolution Hebrew was the language of choice for learned colonists like William Bradford, Governor of Mass, e.g. he wrote his memoirs. Not only Wells (Moreau chapters 9 & 12, 42-3, 59-66, op, cit, see also his “Outline of History” Vol. III) but Senator Obama’s new-approved pastor share this contempt, the latter commenting that “Moses was a thug who liked to beat on people.” If and when Jews object to this they will be blamed, per the script for Obama not getting the top slot. Jew-hatred is the default option of the West and the reason for its collapse.

The title refers to the horse race for the white house and its interpretation and labeling by the court jesters of the major media. It is a pre-scripted, outcome-based black comedy which numbs minds “habituated to accepting unreality as reality” while the bodies attached to these minds are prepped for poverty and recycling per environmental dogma.

The Obama campaign has accomplished remarkable and morbid feats of triangulation, among them, the mainstreaming of Al Sharpton. Once known best as an inciter of riots, deadly arson, and false rape charges laced with the toxin of race hatred, Jeremiah Wright and the “New” Black Panthers have been used to give the NY hustler ‘senior statesman’ status — with a hefty boost from FOX news, its infomercials and Culturetainment.

Uncle Al now is inside the circle, a good buddy with fellow couch potato, the Reverend Pat Robertson (or was that Jerry Falwell with him on the ottoman)? The ebony and ivory duo, in a new infomercial show that saving the world and environment is something that “even liberals and conservatives can agree on” says Sharpton as they both nod sagely against a mind-numbing backdrop of softly lapping waves. There was no specific reference to “global warming” or the less overtly dishonest phrase, “climate change” but these “truths” have been so firmly established that they needn’t be precisely invoked: message received, there is an emergency and emergency measures must be taken “to “serve” humanity,” the dark ironies of the Twilight Zone return as virtual reality…

The gentlemen have both arrived on the gravy train, useful pitchmen for the campaign of terror that herds entranced viewers to accept de-populating and greening the earth that, as we’ve been told for four decades has had too many amber waves of grain, way too many people and insufficient ethanol. All the while, Chairman Spin Malarkey lectures unlucky listeners to cut their driving by 10%: the “or else” hangs in the air. The Chairman does not mention that Americans have cut the energy consumption in the past year and that oil and gas reserves are at their highest levels since 1992. That information would spoil the plot of which he is a well-oiled part.

Before we get to Obama’s ‘gaffes,’ and speaking of malarkey, the spin-man’s show is a major force in making screen world a borderless field of Culturetainment. Surely you have seen this coming with the moronic but insidious “body language” experts, the “dhue-point,” the pop-culture quiz-show bit, the endless parade of bimbos with and without law degrees and the regular appearances of comedian – pundit Dennis Miller with whom Bill shares in-group jokes and chuckles. Other members of the FOX Barony include former ranting leftist, Juan Williams and former DNC chair and current head of the Clinton thrust, Terry McAuliffe. Late in April, Malarkey and Miller were chuckling about Miller’s appendectomy, his former boss at CNBC and about the Spin-man’s recent dental visit: how enlightening. They were very comfortable commiserating together in public; but heck, it was no more irrelevant, perhaps not even less arrogant than anything else on the segment. Those able to resist the Novocain may note Malarkey’s steady pushing for more punitive and automatic if vaguely defined “crimes” like child “abuse” when incitement to commit murder, including murder of a President is plainly the issue of the nine-year old reading a rant about murdering Bush; or, in another case the taking of legally married women by the State. Twelve or fourteen-year olds who want abortions are termed “women” while married young women are called children whom the State, not their parents will instruct. (First they destroyed the fathers and few people cared). Speaking of the divorce industry, the spin-show and its bevy of sharp-faced female prosecutors have a strong punitive undertone. And increasingly we are taught by FOX, as by the divorce industry that some are above the law, that pigs are “more equal” than other “animals”: a few guests, Dick Morris and Bob Beckel are prime offenders, are free to commandeer the show. Insiders like them run wild; otherwise, when a network anchor twice tells a guest the correct answer, one mustn’t argue with the fair and balanced TRUTH, no rational debate allowed, — the dogma comes down like Judge Judy’s gavel.

Barak Obama has the support of Hamas whose stated policy is the annihilation of Israel; in the passed gas of Jimmy Carter’s shuttle, we’re told that this can be accomplished after a hudna (“truce”) “up to ten years and renewable” a spokesman said April 22. Those who have studied some Koran or the utterances of various “Palestinian” leaders know that the truce is meant to be violated as soon as the Islamic party sees an advantage in doing so, just as its original was long ago in Mecca. The fact that Jimmy Carter just met with these leaders, with a nod and wink and carrying messages from the ‘shocked’ State Department shows who manages, for nine decades now since the Brits made it an art, Islamic terror. To be sure it has its own internal dynamics, but as Matthias Kuntzel and others have noted, British, German, and American diplomats have given this imperialism the genocidal flavor that spices its 20th century attitude toward Jews. So it’s interesting that Obama’s campaign is the confluence for these trends of attrition and terror which include whittling down the genuine sovereignty of America, too and making it a poor nation while swelling the power of its oligarchs.

For the “change agent,” the meaning of Passover is “the freedom to talk to Iran” the club raised to threaten a second holocaust and thus extract ever more concessions from Jews targeted for expulsion from their homes. What a comedian he is; a true heir of Farrakhan.

Thus Obama was the perfect hit man to deliver the ‘gaffe’ demeaning Americans, not only in Pennsylvania whose primary just happened to be at hand, by suggesting that those who are religious, know the second amendment, who want illegal immigration halted, who don’t like him are bitter, depressed, stupid, etc – they don’t absorb enough wine and cheese or serve on powerful policy groups like his lovely wife, Michelle.

Why perfect: because this gaffe enabled the leader to stumble, to tighten the already very tight “race” and helped the inhabitants of the media’s whited sepulcher continue carping about who’s naughty or nice, their flat-headed analyses of “tone” and “style” and strategy insuring that there is NO discussion of the great issues facing this nation, destroying its families and economy. The distraction machine has rarely been in better form than during its coverage of the Blue Team’s nags during the recent eternity: that is its purpose.

“Hillary will be on top with Obama as VP” this writer told a friend at Thanksgiving 2006. It was and is as obvious as the malice behind his suavely insidious style, within the empty rhetoric, the “polished words” of both of them. The red elephant is little better than the blue communists. Perhaps the Senator from Arizona, — busy ‘introducing himself to the American people’ – could help us by explaining how his approach to health care will differ (it will, won’t it?) from that of his communist opponents; or what he will do to stop the export of American jobs or influx of foreign labor. Surely one of his speech writers can sketch these matters out for him, can they not? When was the last time he had to worry about paying for “health insurance,” more money for less care while legions of women man phones (laden with lengthy recorded menus) that trickle out incoherent ‘information’ on the latest regulations that will be used by government to justify letting you die in the gutter when one of your premiums is missed. And the “care providers” will feel vindicated, too. It’s quite like the method of the Whitewater home leases…

This year’s is the most obvious ‘brokered convention’ campaign since the Humphrey-Carter mess in ’76 or the nightmare of ’68. The President and her Vice were presented as ‘opponents’ from day one while they bicker over trifles. The scripted result will be as noted above. For the oligarchs, this will have the ‘value-added’ of Obama & Co. whining about how racist America is while Geraldine Ferraro explains that it is mainly sexist and also racist. The outcry of Sodom will sully the face of heaven.

Yes, giving women the vote, putting them in charge of ‘education’ and of family and income certainly has produced a kinder, gentler world… women wear the pants, boys are shamed, families destroyed, perversion exalted and abortion made a sacrament. If the oligarchs weren’t so hurried, they would not need to provoke famines and plague to reach their preferred population figures.

Make all candidates stand in line for flu shots along with the common herd; let the lords and ladies come down into the village; trash network studios and make the hairstyles live on forty thousand / year; let Malarkey laugh about his tooth procedure then.

Meanwhile Hillary compares herself to Rocky Balboa; the comeback kid, II. Seems Obama gets all the good lines in this two-year campaign, the beginning of the perennial campaign, the beginning of the end game of language and thought; the game in which Al and Jerry and Pat and Benedict are couch mates digging the surf and emoting about the need to save mutter Nature.

On Patriot’s Day, the Boston Red Sox wore the green triangular “recycling” logo on their sleeves; there were speeches about earth day. At their season opener, a fan from each country in “Red Sox Nation” stood in the outfield with its nation’s flag, no matter how phony or recent that “nation” is. The pr motto was “United Nation.” They won’t leave anything alone…think ‘Olympics.’ The post-modern world means the toxic Greek Body rejects its Hebrew root. The ancient nation and fount of history must be destroyed: that’s part of the Darwinians’ hysterical counterattacks, too.

In January, Rip and I discussed the devolution of our politics and politicians into a purple people eater flying through a purple haze: we were discussing the dialectics of forgetting. In February Fox began using a hyped-up, digitalized version of “Purple Haze” as a lead into its “news”; early in April, the media harlots began nattering about “purple states.” They have no shame, no soul and lots of relentless noise and fog.

Given the stable of candidates, a stable impossible to clean, we are enduring the beginning of a long purple season. On a different level, should the Senator from Arizona choose Ms. Condi Rice as his Vice there would be a purple presence on each ticket: why not let Condi, Hillary and Michelle flap as a purple troika? The only thing not diverse about the contestants is their policies, or rather, those for which they front, doll heads mouthing smooth words from insincere hearts addicted to power juice and lapping it from any given flower.

“We’ve given you a Republic if you can keep it” Founder Ben Franklin said long ago. It was a good nation, its remnants worth struggling for, indeed, essential to retrieve from the pod people numbing humanity down. But the attitude and methods of Machiavelli, the quintessence of the fraud and identity theft at the source of the West has expressed and permeated all its products with cynicism and power lust. Though not at all in the way tenured communists think, America largely has become part of Edom’s imperium and the fall is painful; the global empire which the dying Republic is being used to build will be even worse. It won’t last, but that’s cold comfort.

Baseball is underway even as the undertakers of greed and distraction do it in with political correctness, globalism and plutocracy. Forsythias are in glory. As long as there are minds to think, learn and able to teach, with natural wonders and awe for its Creator there is a chance for humanity. The hope won’t die.

The mass media continue discovering ways to distract the public from the core issues America faces. I use the neutral term “public” rather than “citizens” though we are citizens still, partly. What else could we be, subjects? Well, bad laws, capricious, post-modern application of laws, and, for decades Television has been directed toward reducing reason and, thus a sense of justice, of right and wrong; reducing too the ability to think or act with the result that most of us, to varying degrees, have been reduced to a glop one might term, “the masses.” Experimental psychology and the entire Pavlovian project, from advertising and ‘news’ to the classroom intertwine with this development but that’s another essay.

To television we can add computers and the various screen-experiences they provide from blogs to “games,” the worlds of X-Box and Play station. This is the world of see, push, point and click, of sense-and-respond, an animal world; or perhaps it’s a war zone in which emotions and hormones go wild. Do more people use the internet to study, learn history and write analytically or to “surf” for imagery, for various kinds of pornography, including simple voyeurism, if this kind of morbidity is ever “simple.”

The main examples for the reduction of thought, feeling and humanity in this essay pertain to the “race for the oval office” which is meant to keep us in an odds-making frame of mind, that is, a dumb frenzy: yes, as Poe foresaw, modernism and progress are shams and traps [1]. But first a few words, not from our sponsor but about other major media that distinguish and have disfigured our age and our lives.

The distraction-and-reduction of humanity industries were present in film and radio but were not homogenous in their effects and had nowhere near the power to degrade our senses as do television and computers. Movie theatres of old always had a bit of neighborhood in them; most were used for vaudeville, concerts of many kinds and other public functions. Some still had pianos in a corner up front till the 1960s. The screen came down upon or was set behind a stage. There were lots of other people, pleasant or unpleasant as the details might be. The “virtual” quotient was limited.

Arguably, silent films conduced more to the sensate and human regression; they were mainly about visuals and movement although narrative development of plot still set the stage – surreal jump-cutting and absurdity were reserved for the rare “art-film” and viewers went to these expecting to see something odd and progressive: not exactly chainsaws and coeds shivering in a basement while Jason stalks dark streets. And the old “silents” had captions and legible lip movement. Radio and ‘talkies’ were all about conversation, often amazingly eloquent and witty, not least in comedies like Laurel and Hardy or the immortal Fields. So even when they were ‘racy,’ they used and strengthened literacy and interpersonal communication, faculties that contribute to (though they do not insure) community and humane dealings: television in its beginnings also had this quality: the black and white made it clearly a “fiction” even when it was news, a reproduction to be heard, studied and considered. Many of the shows (Groucho Marx, reality TV that still was real) were just radio with a few visual gimmicks filmed on an immobile stage.

Abstract elements, dissolves, fades, jump-cutting, cropping, strange juxtapositions first entered through ads and cartoons along with the color that bathed viewers in a sensual, not a literate experience. “Ooh, ah,” that’s the level to which it reduces our response, erasing the boundary between intimate and public experience. Those who produce television now are plantation owners; the hairstyles chattering at us are taskmasters and school marms: no thinking necessary class; yes, the curriculum has been dumbed-down. When you hear the cue (slogan), respond with the correct cliché. Otherwise there may be a ’sensitivity’ re-training seminar [sic]: corruption of language has stacked the deck, humans lose by being human.

Computers and the web appear to deliver the ultimate democracy. Almost everyone has access and what goes in reflects who puts it in, and why, matters only sometimes discernable and often by few. Human beings are not meant to sit in chairs or to look at screens in which so many, lowest-common-denominator distractions lurk and have been planted. A verse from P.B. Shelley, “the over-busy gardener’s deadening toil” pops to mind [2]. We indeed blunder toward death less, perhaps, like the aging Tory laureate lampooned than like the progress-mad, soon disillusioned radical. For us unfortunate moderns, part of the medium’s enslaving nature is in its analogy to a garden filled with Venus fly-traps. Consider: what creature spins webs? And what does she spin them for? And what does she do once they are caught?

When you next expound upon the “freedom” of the worldwide web, think of that [3].

Consider to that democracy, “people rule” inevitably means mob rule and that mobs are ruled by tyrants, and their paid enforcers. They inevitably destroy tradition and deference [4].

Enough for now about the media of entrapment, increasingly a byword for our time of cultural degeneracy for license leads always to tyranny and often is contrived by it (a good reason to proscribe license, and licenses). Let us turn to the horse race and to pertinent and quite descriptive comments on it made almost a millennium ago.

The evil genius of the major media shows impressive consistency; there is no way that the major developments re-shaping all our lives for the worse are going to be mentioned, much less discussed as the two Democratic nags, made to ride in tandem (Hillary, of course, wants to be “on top”) find infinite reasons to bicker. What to do about the poor, poor disenfranchised masses of Michigan and Florida? Let’s spend a few weeks nattering about that. How about Hillary’s tone in lamely imitating Obama’s vacuity? How about his hollowness, itself — “he’s a great speaker” the morons tell us. Which one of them has more momentum? Which has raised more money? What do the numbers say? Have we spent enough time enthusing about the 4500 votes Obama got in Wyoming, or has Hillary and the Emperor’s Club stolen his rolling thunder?

No truly human being can survive five or even two more months of this stuff, or of the twenty-three year old “political strategists” and “pollsters” the Demlicans, Repricrats and complicit media trot out before our protesting souls and dismayed hearts to spout their programmed talking points. In Ohio, the Demlicans say they are against NAFTA and will work to make it better, and people vote for them; no one talks about the real costs of ethanol, or of “health insurance” and its deadly triage; will either of the donkeys secure the borders, expel illegal immigrants, prevent America from being dissolved into the NAU by diktat of a President they profess to hate? Are they going to propose a set of workable measures to inhibit or stop outsourcing? Are they going to end the racism and sexism of “affirmative action” or the destruction of public education by the Teacher’s Unions and their sponsors? Since “choice” is their creed, are they going to support parental choice in education? How about choice for a father when abortion threatens or when “Mom” decides its time to divorce Dad? Will they liberate citizens from paying for the indoctrination, vaccination, labeling and spiritual disfiguring of their children or for the multi-faceted expropriation of the children by the State?

No, of course not; they support almost all of these end-game, triage, mentally and economically impoverishing problems. They represent the Corporate Collective that creates the problems, from feminism and all that follows from it to collapsed borders: as with the family, so with the nation. Will the media press them to address any of these issues? Of course not: they represent and are more directly owned by the CC than are the nags. Their job is to distract, benumb, and enchant us with sensational tit-bits, mind-numbing numbers about nothing, fake arguments, faked passion and even more faked compassion. The parade of moronic bimbos and feminized males marches on to victory uber alles.

A long time ago the Children of Israel, whose teachings long since have reached much of the world in one form or another were instructed against sorcery, divination, astrology, reading omens, or directing their behavior according to “lucky times” [5]. All these practices undermine and eventually destroy free will and responsibility as well as giving the soul-numbing impression that the Creator’s wisdom does not inform all things but that human mages can re-make the rules and re-model people. As the war on the Jews has accelerated and as Israel is submerged by foreign powers and their embedded clients all these forms of paganism are returning. It isn’t pretty or pleasant.

It is pertinent to note that the prohibitions against witchcraft which rules the regressing progressive West are near the admonitions noted above [6]. About eight and a half centuries ago, the great scholar, physician, and philosopher, Maimonides grouped them with the prohibitions against cross-dressing which, he noted, “is common among the nations and sometimes stems from a desire to arouse the passions to perversion” [7]. Maimonides examined the etymology of the prohibition against using “time deciders” and noted that its root also forbids “capturing the eyes” [8]. He emphasizes that this does not apply simply to conjuring in its physical sense. Rather, he explains, “’capturing the eyes’ is a form of necromancy [which] ‘steals the mind’ of men.” This “damage is inestimable,” he continues, for it disorders reason, the sense that the creation and Creator are rational, understanding bonded to a culture of free will, genuine freedom and responsibility. Perversion and conjuring are linked in necromancy as uniquely damaging because “the form of the soul is knowledge,” the same knowledge stolen by the conjurer and thief of the eyes [9]. So those who “capture the eyes” imperil the soul for they “make impossible things seem possible in the eyes of fools, women and children and their minds become habituated to accepting unreality as reality” (emphasis added). This is a functional description of virtual reality almost a millennium before our times and the attendant loss of personal, public and international life that is occurring as the world is “consumed with bewildering terrors” [10]. In the newly-pagan West’s house of mirrors and delusion, “reality TV” intermixes with a “virtual reality”: ‘nothing is real’ because all discriminations, boundaries in their most basic sense have been banned from speech and thought. Creation has been undone.

With the degradation and coercion of public schooling in which education has been wrecked (much as health insurance ruins medicine and health) added to the sorceries of the media and the modernist obsession with cults, augury and divination, with control, increasing since the late 18th century, then Hegel, Mesmer, Darwin, etc, “minds become habituated to accepting unreality as reality. Reflect on this,” Maimonides concluded his discussion of those dangers. Idolatry and witchcraft really are bad ideas, enchanting and disordering the soul and sense, a great negation of freedom; the war of terror against the Jewish people who brought freedom to humankind has naturally spread to homes and ‘theatres near you.’ The wheel will come full circle; a branch that attacks its root is a branch that will wither and die.

The next time you see or hear Wild Bull Malarkey, Heraldo, the “independent populist” on CNN, the bevy of hairstyles, the “liberal and conservative commentators” screaming at each other and their guests, creating their web of virtual reality; the next time you, doing a biopsy on our culture, listen to the hollow necromancy of the nags in the race, know that you are dealing with death magic and that the “vanity and wind” has long been long a-coming. Amid this storm one needs a clear mind buttressed by sound teachings and, as the Children of Israel have shown, you’ve got to be in it for the long haul. People have a sad tendency to prefer magic to miracles, slavery-and-glitter to freedom [11].

1. Edgar Allan Poe, “the Man Who was All Used Up,” “Some Words with a Mummy,” “the Devil in the Belfry” and “The Angel of the Odd” c. 1844-7; the last named tale shows that very strange things indeed do happen and are consistent with Providence, free will and the wisdom or laws of nature the Creator imparted into the creation. Only a dreaming drunk and skeptic finds scriptural exegesis soporific, the tale wittily suggests. For the idea of enlightenment as regression see Shelley’s last poem, “The Triumph of Life.”
2. Percy Bysshe Shelley, “The Witch of Atlas” (1820), introduction Stanza 4, slight paraphrase
3. “I found a dimpled spider, fat and white / On a white heal-all, holding up a moth / Like a white piece of rigid satin cloth…” Robert Frost, “Design” (c. 1920). And so it comes to pass, more than the agnostic might have guessed: we live among and are confounded by “assorted characters of death and blight” in a world where we are instructed to “stop making sense” and “just do it,” if it’s still permitted…
4. Nathaniel Hawthorne, “My Kinsman Major Molineux (1832) gives a view of colonial raw democracy.
5. Leviticus 19:26, Deuteronomy 18:10, etc. In “The Laws of Kings and their Battles” 11:4 Maimonices finds a silver lining in the war-alliance of Edom and Ishmael.
6. The prohibition against witches and witchcraft Deut. 18:10 and Exodus 22:7. In Maimonides’ the Book of Commandments, Volume II, #34
7. Maimonides, Sefer HaMitzvoth [“Book of the Commandments”] arranged by positive injunctions, part I and prohibitions, Part II (Moznaim, 1993, English translation by Rabbi Shraga Silverstein). Maimonides groups many prohibitions against various forms of idol worship in #s 14-60, pages 11-36 of Volume 2. If legend and Sir Walter Scott are correct, Maimonides, who was the physician of Saladin, was the man who treated a wounded Richard the Lion Heart.
8. ibid. page 22, negative command II.32
9. Maimonides, Foundations of Torah, 4:8-9 offers what today would be called a biogenetic or DNA-based description of Genesis 1:26.
